The unique Art House Scotland, can be found in the historic and picturesque Scottish Borders town of Duns. Set inside Hardens Hall, the contemporary home of artist Tony Huggins-Haig, the gallery stretches throughout the ground floor of the house and was lovingly created to deliver a more welcoming, intimate and relaxed exhibition space. A space that can be tailored to the way you like to view and learn about art.

The gallery which historically occupied a restored 15th century building in nearby town Kelso, was moved to Hardens Hall in early 2019 to offer guests a truly personal art experience. The hall, home of Tony, has been expertly transformed into an inspiring art gallery, displaying innovative works created by its owner Tony Huggins-Haig and an outstanding group of nationally and internationally renowned artists.

Within purpose designed gallery spaces, a state-of-the-art ‘mood’ lighting system perfectly accentuates the colour and texture of the exhibits. Rich oak flooring adds warmth and comfortable seating throughout ensures the gallery offers a generous, unhurried art experience that delves deeper into the creative process, the inspiration behind the work and the artists themselves.

With beautifully displayed artwork and a warm and friendly atmosphere, the Home of Art is the perfect environment to view and purchase artwork that inspires you. The gallery has over 1000 engaging artworks including paintings and sculptures of metalwork, woodwork and glasswork, hand-crafted furniture, textiles and other bespoke gifts.

Throughout the year, the gallery welcomes the finest artists to the Scottish Borders to participate in a rich programme of exhibitions and other cultural events. As well as hosting regular exhibitions, the gallery also takes part in art fairs across the world and welcomes artists of all abilities to come and discover the joy of creativity in one-to-one painting sessions with Tony.

The Art House Scotland gallery is motivated by a powerful sense of ‘putting back into society’ and as such are committed to building strong community links by operating a number of creative activities and charitable events designed to be a catalyst for positive change.

With its unrivalled knowledge of the art market and excellent working relationship with artists and art publishers, the gallery is well placed to provide the most enriched art experience for all who visit their home.

    Our Services

    Why buy art?

Since we opened the gallery in 2004 we have found that most people buy artwork because they fall in love with the artwork or a particular artists work. The piece of artwork then heads out of the gallery door and away with our amazing collectors. Heading home with them to becomes part of their own collections and identities. Sometimes we have collectors who come in to buy art works as investment pieces for the future.

    Buying Art as a Gift

Looking for that special gift? We can help you make the perfect choice, wrap your purchase and carefully deliver it to the recipient on a day that suits you.
